Tammany Trace Tunnel Under Highway 190 | Engineering Projects
This project was focused on the design of a tunnel for the Tammany Trace Bicycle Path underneath Highway 190 in Mandeville. Work performed by Meyer Engineers, Ltd. included an 80-foot-long, 14-foot-wide Conspan tunnel. Tunnel approaches, 360’ long, were included on each side to meet ADA requirements. The entrances of the approaches were constructed high enough to minimize rainwater runoff from entering the tunnel. A sump and a small pump station were included to remove storm water. Also included was the repaving of Highway 190 (five lanes and sidewalks), waterproofing, permanent signage, landscaping, vandal resistant lighting, and drainage
