Girod Street Improvements | Engineering Projects
Meyer Engineers, Ltd., provided engineering for the design, preparation of plans and specifications, bidding, construction engineering, and inspection services for the Girod Street Improvements Project in Mandeville. Girod Street was a DOTD Transportation Enhancement Program Project for a ½ mile stretch from Monroe Street to Lakeshore Drive in Mandeville.
Road improvements included cold planning with asphalt overlay, widening, parking stalls, concrete curbs, subsurface drainage, and utility relocations. Enhancement features included concrete sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation, decorative street lights, and stamped concrete intersections.
Meyer Engineers, Ltd. also performed a drainage study to alleviate flooding in the area. Meyer Engineers, Ltd. prepared the Transportation Enhancement Program Application for Mandeville which was instrumental in securing the funding for the project. Meyer Engineers, Ltd. coordinated with City Officials and DOTD.
