Jackson Avenue Bike Path | Parks and Recreation Projects

harvey boulevard photoThis project involved construction of an 8-foot wide bike path along Jackson Avenue from Lakeshore Drive to Highway 190 (4,300 feet long), an 80-foot-long timber bridge and a two-inch-thick asphalt overlay of the existing street. The work performed included an asphalt bike path, street asphalt overlay, drainage, striping and signing.

In addition, some improvements were made to the parking areas at Lakeshore Drive. This work included adding angled parking in front of the New Orleans Yacht Club and adding additional parking at the boat launch. Additional green spaces were created by removing excessive concrete and asphalt around parking areas. This project was funded by a DOTD Enhancement Grant.

Construction Cost: $750,000
