Lasalle Park | Parks & Recreation Projects

Meyer Engineers, Ltd. undertook the design of Lasalle Park, which is located on the south side of Airline Drive between Zephyrs Stadium (West Loop Road) and David Drive/Hickory Avenue. This project consisted of four 80-foot softball fields, concession stand/press box, dugouts, backstop fencing, outfield fencing and four soccer fields. Lighting for all fields was accomplished under a separate project.

The project included construction of an asphalt parking lot for the LaSalle Tract Sports Complex. The parking lot measures approximately 650 feet by 189 feet wide and contains approximately 312 spaces. Pavement consists of three inches of asphaltic concrete on eight inches of base course. Concrete curbs, overland drainage and some subsurface drainage were also required.

The field lighting project consisted of the installation of lighting for four softball fields, three soccer fields and security and area lighting for the jogging trail. The project also included thirty-four 70-foot steel poles with 1000-watt fixtures.

In addition, the project included a two-mile jogging path.
